your mobile phone is your private sanctuary. only you can hear what is coming out of the earpiece and only you can see what is on the screen. when walking down busy city streets you can witness hundreds of people in their own private worlds. what if your communication could become a more public experience? ringtones are one way that people customize their communication, but they are sometimes considered a loud and aggressive expression. what if people could see who you are talking to, or at least get an idea?
.dot.dot.dot is a wearable display that connects to your mobile phone and is triggered by your communication.
by designing different animations for your closest relationships (best friends, parents, boy/girlfriends) and saving them on .dot.dot.dot you can express to the people around you who you're talking to. if it's your girlfriend, design an animation for a beating heart. when she calls or texts you, .dot.dot.dot will light up with your animation.
.dot.dot.dot also has a joystick so you can play games with friends over sms.
the future benefits for a connected wearable display are many. what if you could sign up to a service that would publish important news or a funny joke to your .dot.dot.dot., showing it to all the people around you? mobile phones can be used to connect us to the people in our immediate space as well as those who are distant.
